Why electrovalent compounds are high boiling points?

because the further left you are on a periodic table the higher boiling point

the ionic bonds are very strong.a lot of energy is needed to break them.as in boiling u need to loosen the space between the particles ,here ,it will take a lot of time to split them as the ionic bonds are very strong and therefore will take a lot of time and heat to boil.so they have high boiling points
