They changed the attitude to freedom of the press after the revolt of 1857 because of the following reasons
1. people are now getting aware about the evil project of Britishers.
2. Indian people are now writing in vernacular languages and influencing more people .
3. They (Britishers) don't want to leave the monopoly which they have set up in India.
