hi this will help you- because as it will have less surface area it will not dry fast but if the surface area is more then the evaporation will become more faster. for example: when the tea is hot if we will keep it in a cup it will not become more cold than compare to the tea kept in the saucer

=>This is because , in this process , only the surface of water is involved in the change of liquid state of water to gaseous state.
