Why even the magnitudes of action force and reaction force are equal and thier direction are opposite thier effects do no get cancelled

for the force to get cancelled the 2 forces should act along a same POINT ON THE BODY.IF THE 2 FORCES AREN`T WORKING AT A SAME POINT THEY WILL CREATE ROTATIONAL FORCE KNOWN AS TORQUE.
