Fishes can survive in pond even though the temperature is 0°C because till 4°C water contracts but when temperature reaches below 4°C water expands.

Fish is adapted to low temperatures because it is a cold blooded organism whose body temperature varies with the environmental conditions.... so in low temperature it's body temperature drops to vary accordingly
