Why flowers that open at night are generally colourless

It is because there is no presence of sunlight so chlorophyll is absent and so the flowers are colourless.

They are colorless, in order to reflect the moonlight and advertise their beauty to passing moths or other insects. Sphinx Moths are the primary pollinators of night blooming flowers.
