brahmaputra is a cursed river and assam is located near it and thus it floods assa every year. ii is also due to heavy rainfall which takes place in assam and upstream the rivers and thus flood takes place due to oberload of water in that river.

While natural topography and excess rain are obvious causes, floods are also caused by human interventions like encroachment, lack of drainage, hill cutting and deforestation
