As valency of nitrogen is 3 and that of oxygen is 2 , so formula should be N2O3. But it's not. What's the reason behind it ?

SEE NO TEACHER WILL TELL YOU THIS BUT I WILL TELL YOU AS THE SCIENCE CLASS 12 STUDENT
IN PURE SCIENCE CHEMISTRY HAS A LOT OF EXCEPTION AND A LOT OF CONFUSION IN IT YOU WILL BE FRUSTRATED WHEN YOU READ CLASS 11 12 NCERT CHEMISTRY BOOK
BECAUSE THE RULE OF EXCHANGING VALENCY IS ONLY SPECIFIC TO SOME COMPOUNDS
AND NO2 IS AN EXCEPTION OF THAT RULE
NO2 IS NAMED UPON THE CHEMICAL NAME NITROGEN WHICH MEANS ONE NITROGEN ATOM AND DI MEANS TWO AND OXIDE MEANS OXYGEN 02
NOW AS I TOLD YOU THE SECRET
