As we know that democracy is a type of government where people are granted political right and equality(along with many other rights). So, in democracy, the government is formed by the votes of the majority of the population which is eligible to vote. Voting is something which makes the government democracy because the ruler is by the people otherwise the country will not be democratic rather it will be a monarchy or dictatorship. Like in India the voting is held every 5 years for the selection of a new central leader. This gives other political parties an equal opportunity to win and govern the country. Democracy is about learning from our mistakes. Through these election we can correct our mistakes by changing the leader or we can continue the current leader govern by voting for him or her. Therefore democracy requires voting.
