The FRIGID zone is the coldest zone on the earth . This zone remains frozen throughout the year.It extends from 66 1/2 ( Arctic Circle )degree north to 90 degree north ( North pole ) .

The frigid zone is the coldest zone because it is the furthest from the equator and the torrid zone is the hottest zone because it is the coolest to the equator.
