As we know that earth is tilted. So, maximum rays of sun fall on the equator region and hence it is the hottest......

So, in the frigid zone, rays of the sun have to cover a larger distance and due to this there intensity decreases and the frigid zone is cold....

rudrikadhawan: The regions are far away from the equator. They get less direct sunlight than other areas. Some or all of the land is covered with permanent ice.
