Answer:

A hot point probe is a method of determining quickly whether a semiconductor sample is n (negative) type or p (positive) type. A voltmeter or ammeter is attached to the sample, and a heat source, such as a soldering iron, is placed on one of the leads.Galvanometer is used for detecting and measuring electric current. The most common use of galvanometers was as analog measuring instruments, called ammeters, used to measure the direct current (flow of electric charge) through an electric circuit.

Explanation:

in hot probe method we actually determines that whether the material is of n-type or p-type  by the direction of flow of urrent fro hot end to old or cold to hot.the galvanometer is 0 enterd instruments wich shows the current as well as direction.therefore we use galvanometer in hot probe....

hope answer would be stisfied....

do vote if it is........

thanx....
