Why Gandhi call off or postpone the Non-Coperation movement ?​

The Non-cooperation movement was withdrawn because of the Chauri Chaura incident. Although he had stopped the national revolt single-handedly, on 10 March 1922, Gandhi was arrested. ... This led to suppression of the movement and was followed by the arrest of other leaders.

Here's the answer :

On 5th of February ,1922 a serious incident of mob violence occured at at chauri Chaura in Gorakhnath district of united Province. In this incident of violence , the local police violently collided with the protesters . The police fired on the protesters and three were killed because of firing . While , protesters also burned down the station. As a result 22 policeman were killed . Thus , Chauri - Chaura incident, Gandhi called off or pospone the Non - operation movement
