Liquids have specific volume but gases don't have specific volume

The atoms, ions, or molecules that make up the solid or liquid are very close together. There is no space between the individual particles, so they cannot pack together but gases atom are not lie closer and there is many space b/w particle that why they re compressible (kinetic molecular theory )
