Gases expand rapidly because their kinetic energy is very high and intermolecular force is low.

Gases expand rapidly because heat allows the molecules to move faster as it converts heat energy into kinetic energy which means that volume of gases increses much faster than solids and even liquods. That is why we keep gases in a closed container so that it does not expand but increase in pressure or temperature makes gases move faster here and there and they expand rapidly .

Hope it helps you!!!
