why glass breaks when dropped but not stone although both are solid

Because stone is comparitively hard due to its formation under high heat and pressure.
But glass is brittle because it is prepared chemically and not subjected to natural pressure and temperature.

I guess this is the answer.

Both are different because they have different molecules and Stone is dense than glass.
