Gold and silver are least reactive metal in the reactivity series of metal and do not lose electron easily. Hence they do not corrode in presence of water and are used for making jewellry.

hello!
corrosion---> when the chemical action of air is prolonged beyond tarnishing, the compounds formed slowly eat away the metal. this is called cirrosion.
In the activity series of metals gold and silver are at the bottom.
Gold and silver do not react with air easily. so even in the presence of water they do not corrode.
hope it helps. ... :)
