Answer:

The government of many countries prohibited to disclose the sex of the fetus through ultrasound scanning due to the believance that the girls are a burden for the family. Most of the families, especially in India, believe that a son will bring more progress to a family than the girl child. To prevent the birth of the girl child, the check the gender of the child/fetus in the womb. If the sex of the baby is girl, then it is killed in the womb/after giving birth. Due to this, the ratio of girl in comparison to the boys is very low. To avoid this practice, the government prohibited the disclosing of the sex of fetus through ultrasound scanning. It is illegal to disclose the gender of the child. Some people still practice this activity, and when they are caught, the Hospital & the doctor (who disclosed the sex) and the people who encourage this activity are but behind bars and are imposed heavy fines.

Hope this helps you!!!!
