Greenhouses are used to grow plants, such as tomatoes and tropical flowers The greenhouse effect works much the same way on Earth. Gases in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, trap heat just like the glass roof of agreenhouse. These heat-trapping gases are called greenhouse gases.

In greenhouse industry fertilizers as well as soil improvers are widely used. Fertilizers are mainly applied to optimize the physical-chemical conditions of the root environment and are used for growing in soils in situ as well as for growing in substrates.
