Green plants take the energy from the sun,i.e. sunlight to perform photosynthesis. They also use water n air in this process. This energy is then stored in the form of glucose,i.e. C6H1206. When we eat food provided by plants, it gives us energy. Therfore, green plants are called source of energy.

NOTE : I wrote the answer as an explaination n so used a simple language. Do find a better ans in case you need to write....

-:GREEN PLANTS :-

*******************************

Green plants absorve sunlinght and in the presence of CO2 and waters they produces energy for their growing of body parts. This process of energy producing energy is called photosynthesis.

this is as follows :-

6co2 + 6H2O + light-->C6H12O6 + 6O2

And some of this energy is stored in plants body.

And when any other depending organisms ( Consumers ) consume this then they get this stored energy. And when this consumer is beingbeing eaten by other consumer then it gets the 10% of energy and so on.

So thats why we call the plants as a source of energy because to perform all life process of any organisms the first energy is provided by plants so as the can carry up this process up.
