Federalism or Federal structure of government means powers getting divided between the centre and the state i.e. government both at the central and state level. India adopted certain policies and programmes to make federalism a massive success which are as follows:-

1. Language Policy- It didnot declare any language as a National Language rather it gave equal importance to the language spoken by a group of people living in the same locality or state.

2. Linguistic State- It reshaped the boundaries of the state trying to bring together the people belonging to the same culture or speaking the same language.

3. Centre-state relation - One of the strongest reason for the success of federalism in India was reconstructing the relation between the centre and the state.
