There are several hurdles to the implementation of waterways projects including
•very high siltation in the river, causing shallow water that hinders the movement of boat.
•Desiltation is a mommoth project and requires a lot of capital
•Less population density in the vicinity of the river basin causing it a time taking exercise and costly for the mainlanders or the ppl residing in city
•Lack of coordination between the state govts and apathy toward these projects
• Sanctity of the river might be at sack according to religious ppl, as it will limit the religious activities in river and its basin..
