because of the strong electrostatic between it's positive and negative ions... this require more heat to overcome

Sodium chloride has a high melting point because of the strong electrostatic attraction between its positive and negative ions.
This requires more energy to overcome.
And due to this reason all ionic compounds have high melting points including sodium chloride.
