• A long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and have a decent standard of living.

• The HDI uses the logarithm of income, to reflect the diminishing importance of income with increasing GNI.

The reasons why HDI is considered the best method is :-

HDI - Human Development Index

• HDI is dependent on 3 criterions :
• Per capita income - The average income of the country by the total population gives us the per capita income.  
• Infant Mortality Rate - It determines the health conditions of the people in the country. IMR is the number of children dying after birth.
• Education - How many students of certain age are provided education in a certain time period and age is tallied here.

Now, we can compare these 3 criterions :-

• You may ask why money? Money alone can't determine the conditions of the people in the country? But we can't evade it as a whole, then there will be no value of money.
• To balance this statement we have other 2 criterions, because Health and Education are as  important as the Per capita income of a country. Currently Norway is leading the HDI rank.
