why helen the ghost appear in bits and pieces??

Helen was the ghost and she was not having a definite shape. she was invisible, but when john was finding harder to write the ghost stories and he asked ''the writing business is delightful isn't ?''

Helen came telling yes.
later the bits and pieces combined and formed a ghostly structure..
