In frogs, external fertilization takes place. Hence, to ensure the process of fertilization and zygote formation frogs lay many eggs. But in hens, internal fertilization takes place and large number of eggs are not required.

frog mostly lay their eggs in water ,larvae produce by them could flow along with water so to protect their generation they have to lay 1000 of eggs at a time while hens lay eggs on land ,so they do not need to lay many eggs.
