becoz Acids are only kept in glasses because acids react with metals to form carbon dioxide gas as they are very high reactive to each other. ... Even HFvapor is corrosive for glass, so HF isstored in plastic containers. Fluorine has more affinity with Silicon than Oxygen and hence breaks the bond and bonds itself.
