Why hills are cooler during summer and people prefer to go hill station?

The hills are commonly cooler  during the summer days so the people and new marriage couple are prefer such location to spend time and visit the major interesting place.

Hope the air density decreases up the hill which does the temperature.

On the other hand air become cooler with the altitude which is due to the heat is lot of the radiation from the  part of the earth  and the air become expand and it cools.
