why hydrogen chloride is not collected over water

HCL is not collected over Water because HCL forms of 1 molecule of hydrogen and 1 molecule of chlorine but water is formed by h2o means 2 molecules of h and 1 molecules of o .... ths is the reason

This is because HCl is soluble in water. It cannot get collected over water.
