Hydrogen shows anomalous behaviour..

It shows the properties of halogens , but contains the electronic configuration similar to that of the alkali metals..

This is due to its very small size and absence of neutron in hydrogen..

Hope this helps you

Hydrogen resembles the properties of alkali earth metals as well as halogens. Hydrogen has one electron in its valence shell and it also needs one more electron to get stable. ... For this the hydrogen is placed separately in periodic table.

Atomic Number: 1

Atomic Weight: 1.0079

Atomic Radius: 78 pm
