Why ice at 273 k more effective in cooling than water at the same temperaturein kannada medium?

This is because of the fact that phase transition occurs atsame temperature. Hence, ice at 1bar pressure will melt to become liquidwater at 273K. Thus the latent heat of fusion is used which comes to be around 335KJ/kg.

it is because ice contains the latent heat of freezing which water at the same temprature does not have...
