Why IE of Mg more than of Al

because magnesium has two electrons in outer most s subshell . while aluminium has one electron in outer most p subshell .
and we know that ionization energy is directly proportional to nuclear charge and inversely proportional to atomic size .
atomic size of aluminium become larger due to an electron in p subshell so it's ionization energy is less than magnesium
