Hii friend,

Acutely not at all only in 6th period ,even in 5th and 4th period also electrons have some different subshell configurations.

This is due to the energy level difference as 6s orbitals having lower energy level than the 4f orbitals than the 5d orbitals and from 6p orbitals.

It is purely and only based on the energy levels which is explained by the scientist "Aufbau" and it is known as "Aufbau's principle".

It states that " electrons are filled in the increasing order of energy starting from the least energy ".

Hope this helps you a little!!!
Between* happy friendship day*.

saka82411: if sodium atomic number is 11 ,then it has 11 electrons
locomaniac: well in 6th period there are 6s, 5d and 6p subshells i got it
locomaniac: but why is 4f written?? it is for lanthanoids and actinoids?
saka82411: on no one is not pwrmanent for anyone. The electrons will be filled in increasing order of energies
locomaniac: ok thank you
locomaniac: xD i would just ratofy that is that a problem? like they need to be learned right?
saka82411: yeah sure.
saka82411: right
locomaniac: thanks again. have a great day..!! god bless
