In a Ganong's potometer, we do not take the twig with roots because due to the presence of roots, absorption will take place.
In this experiment, we are finding out the amount of water intake by the plant i.e. rate of transpiration.
So, absorption by roots will prevent us to measure the correct amount of transpiration.

Coz Ganong potometer is the device used to measure the rate of water intake nd if root is provided or is attached then they will absorb water nd the level of water to measure will decrease hence affecting the rate of intake.... That's it.. I hope u got it....
