Enzymes secreted by the hydra , it will down food from absorption. Hydra also use extracellular digestion and secrete molecules to break down the substrate they will grow. And intracellular digestion take place inside the cell. That's why hydra has two types of digestion

hydra is one of the simplest Heterotroph. The mouth opens into a body cavity having glandular and flagellated cells. The glandular cells secrete proteolytic enzymes while the flagellated cells and the contraction of the body result in mechanical digestion. The semi-digested food particles are engulfed by the phagocytic action of flagellated cells. Thus digestion is both extracellular as well as intracellular since extracellular alone is not sufficient to digest food completely.
