Why in measuring molecular weight we take only 1 atom of hydrogen?

Hydrogen Written as Compound Means H2 Because it is a Gas So, all the Gases Written in The Form Of 2 [O2 , Cl2 , H2] Etc
But when We have to Reaction then we will take only 1 Molecule of Hydrogen atom.
It Follow In all Gases. If It Is O2 Or Cl2 Or H2
