Plants give out carbon dioxide not only at night but during the day too. It happens because of the process of respiration in which plants take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide. As soon as the sun rises another process called photosynthesis starts, in which carbon dioxide is taken in and oxygen is given out.

Answer:  Plants give out carbon dioxide not only at night but during the day too. It happens because of the process of respiration in which plants take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide. As soon as the sun rises another process called photosynthesis starts, in which carbon dioxide is taken in and oxygen is given out.

Explanation:  talking about the plants that do follow this behaviour: Plants use carbondioxide for photosynthesis. This is a process which predominantly happens in the morning and can't be carried out at night. But, at the same time, plants, just like any other living organism is made up of calls and cells always need oxygen to carry out their general metabolic activities.

In the day times, this metabolic process produces carbondioxide and this is directly taken up by the plant into the photosynthesis mechanism. In the night time, however, there is no photosynthesis happening and carbondioxide storage in a plant is always harmful to it. Hence, it is eliminated
