why indicator does not get affected by salt

mostly indicator are organic compounds which do not react with a salt

Indicator is a substance which give a prominent sign to identify the presence of acid and alkali in the substance.Salt is produced from the reaction of acid and bases .That's why indicator does not affect by salt.
