why insectivorous plants are called partial parasites
DEADPOOL1111:
insectivorous plants grow in nitrogen deficient soil. for example in pitcher plants if it catches a Insect its vessel like leaf closes. and protolytic enzymes are released which digest proteins from the insects especially amino acids and take it for there own growth. its leaves only opens after about 12 hours so they are called partial plants

Let's take an example say nepanthes or pitcher plant it has modified petiol it stores HCL to digest
Insects. Although it has roots ,stem, leaves etc . But the soil on which it has settled lacks nutrients
Like nitrogen , phosphorus but it photosynthesis to make food so due to lack of nutrition it meets it's needs by eating insects .it doesn't mean that
it eat insects for living but supports for living like we use vitamin tablets to meet our nutrition and not for living .therefore it called as partly hetrotrop
Hope you get it.
