Most plants (including insectivorous plants) are autotrophs (make their own food with the help of plastids). But Nepenthes, Dionea, Drosera etc. can trap insects (and other small organisms to supplement their nutrition (partly heterotrophic) to overcome nitrogen deficiency (they grow in nitrogen deficient soil).
