yes 22/7 is rational
where as π it is not rational
π is irrational
π is non termination and non reccuring
π is very big number it keeps on going

4nonym0us: but the value of pie is 22/7 and it is rational, how can the same things be both rational and irrational?
4nonym0us: pi*
Mukeshdj: no the value of π is not 22/7
Mukeshdj: for our convenience we are writing as 22/7
Mukeshdj: the exact values is 3.14.....it goes on

pi is an irrational number because pi value is not exactly 22/7. Also, value of pi is non terminating and non-recurring due to which it is an irrational number.
