Why is a frog wet when you pick it up?

Frogs and salamanders in particular are especially vulnerable as they at least partially breath through their skin. Their skin is very porous so as to facilitate this. Toads skin isn't anywhere nearly as porous as a frog or salamander.

This is because frogs belong to the group of amphibians and since amphibians are animals that need both water and land to complete their life cycle, frogs are wet.
