<b>SupposeAs we celebrate Mothers Day on May 14, I would like to write a short piece about the important roles of the mothers in our lives. We are all familiar with the saying, “The mother is the light of the home.” I do believe this comes from Proverbs Chapter 6: “…Forsake not the law of thy mother…for the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light.” As the light of the home, our mothers constantly guide us, especially in dark times. She offers that wisdom to help us make the right choices in our lives.

I wish to emphasize at this point the importance of accepting all forms of motherhood. There isn’t a perfect way to be a mother. Mothers are in unique situations: some don’t have husbands, others live with female partners, some are in conventional family structures, others are raising their children with the help of the “village”, some are stay-at-home moms, others go to work, etc. Mothers also have unique skill sets and challenges. Their children, too, are very different. All of these situations are valid. The important thing is that a mother loves her children deeply. A mother’s role is to love her children with all her heart.

It is also the role of every mom to understand her children. When a child feels this, he or she learns to trust the parent(s) better. Listening is crucial to understanding. Therefore, it is very important that mothers learn to really listen to their children. Shama is a Hebrew word that means “to hear intelligently”. Mothers must exercise shama to understand, help and love the child.

One of the most meaningful roles that a mother plays is the role of nurturer. This word is sometimes taken synonymously with the word “mother”. When a mother nurtures her children well, love and goodness are awakened in the children’s hearts. Because of our mothers’ love, we learn to love, as well and we feel God’s love more profoundly.

the closest to God’s love for us. Mother’s love is unconditional even when we are hurt most by our children we never stop loving them and praying for them. A mother’s love is critical in a child growing up leading a path to understanding God’s love. A mother’s love is critical to the feelings of belonging and self worth for a child. A mother’s love can be paramount in teaching children that real love has boundaries and teaches them respect for themselves and each other.

A mother’s love while not taking anything away from a father and his love is one of the strongest relationships for our children and gives them a sense of belonging and knowing that if the world kicks them down a mother is there to listen, love and counsel. A mother’s love is perseverance even during the struggles and pain often our children break our hearts with, we have a connection always as that child began in our body and is connected in ways a father is not and always will be.

A child may grow up and leave their mother behind but the mother never forgets or leaves that child behind in her heart. A mother and child will make mistakes along the way but a mother is always ready and hopeful that their relationship will heal one day.

A mother never gives up on her child, a mother always wants the best for her child, a mother wants them to have a life perhaps not even they found with lasting and deep joy and happiness, a mother wants her child to be healthy physically, emotionally and spiritually and never stops praying for this and doing her best to be an example for them, even if she fails at times.

A mother’s love is needed for children to know they always have someone in this world praying for them and loving them when they face their won losses and mistakes and pain. A mother’s love provides for their child in ways that will outlast her own life giving them strength and faith to live a life of worth and value and always know when they fail never give up on themselves or others.

Just like God with us, a mother’s love never gives up on her child or praying for her child .

Now this is my view from my own life as a mother of a mother’s love, now I am also including some wonderful articles that can expound on what and how a mother’s love is so very important to our children. We all fail in many ways as we are human but a mother’s love never dies for her children, just as God’s love never dies for us.
