Sheep shearing is done in summer season i.e. during hot weather because they can survive without their thick protective coat of protective hair in summer season. If shearing is done in winter season, the sheep would die due to the severe cold.

Shearing is the process of removing of Fleece along with the thin uppermost of layer of the skin.
Shearing Of sheep for wool is done in early summer.
This enables sheep to survive without protective coat of hair.
The thin uppermost layer of skin that is shaved off is dead and the hair of sheep grow again.
