why is a virus an exception to the cell theory?

The cell theory states that:

Cells are the basic fundamental unit of structure, function, and organization in all living things.

New cells are formed and come from other cells.

All living things are made of cells.

Viruses do not follow under these categories.

Because virus are neither living nor non living  that's why it is a exception for a cell theory .As they are outside a living body they act as non living and asthey enter into the living body they act as a living ...
