Agriculture is not widespread in desert because the water available there is not at all enough for growing both commercial and intensive agriculture.we know it rarely rains in deserts. Added to that the soil in deserts in dry and infertie this not suitable for any crop.

Desert is not supporting living of being. If any place have necessary support for human to live, then he will look for doing all man made activities.

Limited rain fall, high sun and strong winds are not good for any agriculture activities.
