Farmers are not paid hourly or monthly. They have to wait for an entire year to get their harvest. Nature must support when it comes to agriculture. If not, crops destroy easily leaving zero profit. Farmer is the occupation which is usually neglected. We can see in newspapers that farmers commit suicide due to different reasons. Not only that, farmers have to work in fields whatever the weather might be. These reasons make young people unattractive towards agriculture.

WHY IS AGRICULTURE UNATTRACTIVE TO YOUNG GENERATION?

 

Youngsters find agriculture unattractive for many reasons. The first reason behind this indifference is their attitude. They consider agriculture to be an obsolete occupation meant for people belonging to bygone days. They think agriculture means someone who is not modern!

The second reason behind their apathy to agriculture is their inclination for comfort, ease, and luxury. It has been observed that youngsters nowadays love to spend most of their time in front of screens of their smart phones, laptops, tabs, etc. They feel sitting in AC rooms chatting with their friends, sipping coffee or cold drink is real life. Other than this they don’t find anything more appealing.

The third reason behind this dislike is their physical constitution. They feel doing agriculture in the glaring hot sun demands lots of physical strength which they think they don’t have.

The truth is agriculture is a wonderful vocation. only people with inner and outer strength can do it.
