Why is AIDS considered to be a syndrome and not a disease

AIDS is considered a syndrome because it shows signs and symptoms both...for eg there are some particular symptoms and head ache,dizziness etc too...

See..... AIDS does not cause any infection. It breaks down the immune system such that the body becomes susceptible to numerous infections and suffers badly from it.
