The above linked article further considers air
as a homogeneous mixture . It rambles on
with considering it a gaseous solution of
oxygen, carbon dioxide, etc. in nitrogen. ...
Also a solution can never be at the same
time a mixture , as the former can be
separated by mechanical means, while the
latter cannot.

diashree: answer in detail plz
ashutoshsharma2: Air in its pure form is a
homogeneous mixture of gases like nitrogen,
oxygen, carbon dioxide, argon and various
other gases in smaller amounts. However it
becomes heterogeneous when it is polluted
and additional harmful elements are added to
it.

Explanation:

Air is called homogeneous mixture because;

- the constituents of air can be separated by physical method. It means gases can be separated from air .

- Heat and light is not relased during the separation of gases

- It does not have a definite formula it means at different place the amount of a gas is also different.
