here is your ans..
This fine gentleman was not a USAF member. He was an Indian Marshal who passed away in 2017. He was a highly decorated pilot from India.
Now there was a man with a very similar last name who was a USAF pilot and POW in Laos. His name was Lance P. Sihan (pronounced Si-jan). He was an Air Force Academy graduate and the starting wide receiver for the USAF Falcons. An ordinance mishap occured over Laos and the young Lieutenant was forced to eject. He spent 46 days on the ground with his right hand torn in half and two femur fractures that were both compound and had sharp ends. He spent 46 days on the ground crawling to what he must have hoped was freedom. The Vietcong found him barley breathing and with a total body weight of 80lbs. Still, he managed to fight his way to freedom but was recaptured that same day. He threatened to break everyone's neck afterwards. He died in 1969 at the hands of his overlords. He was decorated posthumously with the Medal of Honor for his ability to survive on the ground for a month and a half. In the Air Force he's a pretty big deal and he is celebrated with a Lance P. Sihan award. He is a pretty big deal in the Air Force, even today.
